Published by under Flickr,The Miller's!

Just wanted to let everyone know I uploaded some more pics.  Gotta make this quick because we are getting away for the weekend and I still haven’t packed yet 🙂  Hope to be on the road soon.  Anyway  wanted to get these done before leaving because I am sure we will hvae some from the weekend getaway.  Enjoy.

So tell me what you think, similar or not? 🙂  Michelle and I have said for a long time Morgan and Matthew look a lot alike.  What do you think?

Current Addictions

Published by under The Miller's!

Now it’s not as bad as the title sounds.  I just wanted to share the two of you who stop by here some of my current addictions and things I can’t seem to live without 🙂

First let’s start with some of my must haves in no particular order.

TiVo – I’ll be honest, I don’t know how I would survive without TiVo.  First after driving back and forth from Baltimore to Philly for a year my sleeping habits have gone a little hay wire.  Not to mention the birth of our second child 🙂  That being said, I am usually in bed between 10 and 11 so any 10 o’clock shows I would miss if not for TiVo.  But not only that, it is difficult for me nowadays to watch television with commercials in it.  I mean really, getting back to my previous post about wasting time 😉 how can you waste 15 minutes of an hour long show with commercials.  I really is a beautiful thing being able to just record everything and watch it when I want.  Definitely a must have.

Sirius Satellite Radio – Wow, what would life be without 24/7 NFL football talk.  I honestly don’t know and don’t want to think of such a place.  Not only do I have NFL talk but more music that I want to hear.  Most rock stations play some new with a little old, but it’s that little old that is so annoying.  I am an new rock kind of guy that’s for sure.  I do not want to hear Linkin Park followed by Led Zepplin.  Get you own channel old fogies!  And where else are you going to hear serious metal.  Not just a song by Metallica every hour or so.  And oh yeah, commercial free 🙂

Ice Cream – Yeah I know, doesn’t quite fit with the previous two, but what can I say.  Like Sirius, I can’t imagine a world without ice cream.  I am not a sweets person, but I do need my ice cream.  I also am not a very adventurous person, but I think I take more chances with my ice cream.  I would definitely try a new flavor of ice cream before a new dish at a restaurant.  And I really don’t have a favorite.  I think different people make things better than others.  For example, you can’t get a better Cookie Dough ice cream than Ben & Jerry’s, who by the way were the first to make it.  Breyers makes Dulce de Leche, caramel ice cream with a caramel swirl, which is unbelievable.  Marble Slab’s cheesecake is amazing.  Not sure if they are a northern thing or not but Brusters we recently visited and I had Cake Batter.  All I can say is wow!

NetFlix – Not sure yet if this should be on the list but I am enjoying it quite a bit.  It’s nice to put a list of movies together and rank them and have them sent to you as they are available and as you want them.  No more what was that movie I wanted to see a few weeks ago when you visit the movie store.  Yes there is a draw back to waiting a day or two to get the movie and the USPS not delivering on Sundays really sucks.  They want more business these days why don’t they get out there and start delivering on Sunday!  Would help the economy too maybe by hiring some additional people, OK enough politics.  Anyway, NetFlix is climbing the charts.

Now I just wanted to share a few websites I visit often these days and by often I mean every chance I get just about 🙂

TJHS – Yellow Jackets Alumni – Flat out addicting.  The site continues to grow daily as the word gets out and more Alumni continue to show up.  It’s great catching up with old school friends and seeing what everyone is doing these days.

RiskWars – I have slowed down a bit just because I don’t have the time to play, but this is an online game like the old board game.  Be careful again, very addicting 🙂

CentSports – This is the coolest site 🙂  You are able to bet on almost any sports game online for free and can come away with real money 🙂  Only caveat is they give you a dime to bet on anything and everything and you can only withdraw once you hit 10 dollars.  Still great site to place a few bets on.  Try it out!

Flickr – See my previous post.  Just amazing all the beauty in the world.

So there ya have it.  How I waste my time these days.  As Morgan is asleep in her swing and Matthew has fallen asleep on the couch, so I must I retire.  But the football game isn’t over yet, such a hard decision to make 😉  Night all.

That’s My Boy!

Published by under The Miller's!

Today is a beautiful day.  Not only are we able to see the first live football in 6 months, but Matthew made his daddy proud tonight 🙂  The football in itself is enough to celebrate over.  It would be much better if it was another team other than Washington but it’s good enough.

So I am downstairs doing laundry and just put a load in so I sit down to follow up on a few things, start FireFox to view a few websites and ESPN.com pops up, my home page.  On the cover was a picture of Brett Favre.  No uniform or anything, just a head sho0t probably from one of his pressers this year.  Well Matthew caught a glimpse and looks at me and tells me “Brett Favre is back in football.”  I looked over in amazement because I had not told Michelle anything about Favre in a few days.  I can’t tell you how proud I was in that moment 🙂  He then proceeds to ask “Is he in Washington?”  Now bear in mind Washington was one of the teams rumored to be in the mix for Favre’s services but it hasn’t been discussed in awhile.  And no don’t get any ideas about Washington playing tonight and that’s where he got it from, No.  We hadn’t even discussed football being on tonight yet.  So not only did he catch Favre was coming back but knew a potential home for him.  Such love and pride came out of me at that time 🙂

Anyway just had to share the story.  As it’s been said many a time before…”That’s my boy!”

What a Way to Start the Day

Published by under The Miller's!

I just knew today was going to be one of those days.  It’s rough when you start off the day and it brings you nothing but trouble.  Most of you know I have a heavy foot and I tend to speed whenever possible 🙂  I just don’t like to waste time.  What’s the point of driving 55, yes over here on the left coast for whatever reason they want to limit driving to 55 even though most people drive 70+, when I can drive 85 and get there 10 minutes earlier.  Those 10 minutes I can solve someone else’s problem at work that I have to fix or actually do some of my work.  So anyway, one of my biggest pet peeves is people that can’t adhere to simple edict of…

Pretty Please?!

Pretty Please?!

I mean really, how difficult can it be?  It really isn’t trust me, I have weaved in and out of traffic enough to know it isn’t hard at all.  So back to my point as I weave in and out of being on point.

I got a slightly late start, reasons will be posted tomorrow, so traffic was a little backed up to begin with, but soon as I got on 495 it spread out as usual, except for the wonderful young gentleman who was enjoying his Sunday drive, oh wait it’s Friday not Sunday, in the RIGHT lane!  He barely was going 65 and of course the speed limit was 65.  There were maybe 3 cars in the span of a mile and of course 2 of them were in the center and right lanes.  Well he finally moved past the center car enough I was able to pass him in the center lane.  Sure enough on my drive in I had 2 more similar situations which just made my 45 minute drive, 15 extra minutes thanks to these wonderfully polite drivers, so enjoyable.

This just the start of the day and it continued to not so much go down hill but pretty much stayed level all day long 🙂  In researching for pics to post 🙂 I found this wonderfully informative website which all of you should visit.

Slower Traffic Keep Right.  One of the best lines is:

Realize that it is not your job to keep people from speeding.

Try not to let emotions control your driving behavior. Consider that the speeder is making the roads safer for the rest of us. What is the bigger risk while driving on the highway – wrecking or getting a speeding ticket? There are more speeding tickets than wrecks so our biggest worry should be avoiding a speeding ticket. By letting the speeder get ahead of you then that person will get the ticket and you won’t.

So thats my day, what fun, sorry for dragging you all down.  Just a little look into my world.  So as I finish watching the taped episode of “Last Comic Standing” to try and cheer me up before bed, just remember…”Slower Traffic Keep Right”!!!
