A General Update

Been a few days or so since I updated everyone on what’s been going on so here goes…

MBS - We had a doctors appointment today for another ultrasound. All was well. She is in the 38 percentile as far as growth. She currently weighs 2 pounds 10 ounces. Growth rate all was right on track the doctor said. Another visit and another strike out on ultrasound pics. I am half tempted to go to one of those 3D places simply because we haven’t gotten any real good shots yet. Matthew was his usual hilarious self. I don’t know if I mentioned this in the other posts but when the doctor got over the heart and we could see the heart moving Matthew says “Look baby is talking to me!” He really thinks the heart beating is her mouth moving He was pretty good though in picking things out. It all went by in a blur to be honest but Matthew picked a lot out. The miracle of…Technology. Of course I had to say it right Let me say that the miracle of life is right up there, but I am still fascinated that technology can peak inside a person’s body and get pictures of a spine wrigglin around in real time. Just to be able to see the babies head, and spine, and heart beating, it truly is awe inspiring.

The Move - Most of the last few updates have been about our move. If you are oblivious or missed out, we relocated to Newark, DE as we wait for our house to sell. The move itself went very well. We have found a few things that didn’t make it but all in all, it went well. Today was recycling day so last night I killed myself getting all the empty boxes out of the house I was even amazed at how much more room there was. Outside of the freezing cold first floor and the lack of DirecTV, I think we both are very happy with the place.

The Thiers – Just wanted to give a quick congrats the Angie and the Thiers family on the birth of Chandler James Thier. He was born 3:30pm on Saturday March 1st. He weighed 8lbs and 11oz and was 21 inches long. Just wanted to pat myself on the back as I guessed the weight exactly and was a tenth of an inch off of the length, not too shabby I say Congrats guys and best wishes!

Not much else to say at this point. Think I will catch a TiVo’ed show while Matthew and Michelle nap before tackling some more boxes. Hope everyone is doing well!

Moving Out Day…Of All These Boxes

Good grief, it is amazing how one family can accumulate so much junk…Well The movers finished unloading the truck yesterday about 7:30-8:00 and I got a couple of hours of unpacking done. Living room is “situated”, Michelle did 2 boxes in the kitchen and I maneuvered our bedroom so it’s walkable. Current project for today is my office, I have to get my desk and PC up and after that, we’ll see where it goes. Two additional things to be done today are go back to Maryland and clean up some in case some one actually decides to look at the house we’re still trying to sell We also need to go back to unload some of the fridge, pick up the cats, and take the rent car back. Last thing for the day is a new entertainment center. Living room one barely made it through the last move, in actuality it didn’t to a degree until I put numerous brackets on it to hold it together

One issue we had was DirecTV. The installer came out, on the early side for once, but it quickly went bad from there. The guy was rude to begin with and immediately I knew he didn’t want to work at all. Excuse after excuse, and after a phone call to his supervisor, I started telling him how the install was going to work Well he went straight out to his van, minivan that is, not work van, and call a few more people. Finally he came in and said well I don’t have a pole to go in the ground so I am going to go back and get one and bring someone else back to help with the job. Well it wasn’t too much longer we got a call back from his dispatch saying they were going to reschedule. Aaarrgghh, so now no TV till Sunday morning supposedly, but we’ll see. All I have to say is it better not be the same guy. Comcast arrived late for the internet install and couldn’t get my modem/router to work, but their modem worked of course so I am stuck with a Comcast modem for now and no wireless internet in the house. That I will work on once a few other things are done.

So that’s where we are at. The neighborhood is really quiet. Even the other townhouses we didn’t hear anyone at all last night, which is great. Seems to be plenty of kids around because when 3:30 hit or so a mad rush of them came down the street I’m really liking it here so far, now just to get my office and my living room put together so I can take a break and enjoy myself Cya.

Moving Day

Oh what fun. 7th time in 9 years, hard to believe. Well as I write, Bekins is packing all of our stuff up. Hopefully they won’t pull the plug on the wireless router Tomorrow we are scheduled to load the truck and delivery to our new temporary home will be on Saturday or if we can talk them into it, Friday. The next couple of weeks ought to be just as hectic as we try and find everything as well as clean the old house spic and span for some lucky potential buyers Hopefully she will sell fast so we don’t have to worry about having 2 homes.

In any case, if you want our new address or numbers, just drop Michelle or me a line and we’ll pass it on. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we keep moving closer to Philly. We will update everyone once we get settled this weekend.

It’s Official…We’re on the Move!

Thank You Lord! Finally life can get back to somewhat normalcy, if that’s what we had in the first place. We are scheduling everything for next weekend, Feb. 14-15, so this is going to be a hectic week. We’ll keep you updated and hopefully have a few pics of our new temporary home soon enough Now to make use of my time since I was up at 05:30 am let me try and find some utility contacts for Delaware

Big News…Well Maybe.

After literally one year of driving back and forth to Philly everyday for work since the house has not sold, it looks like there may be a light at the end of the tunnel, maybe

The last 3 months have been horribly hectic with work, home, and the holidays so I apologize in advance to some of you that I have been neglecting in the communications front It all started a few weeks back when the company wanted to try and eliminate some of my expenses, which I can’t blame them as they have been in upwards of $2,300/month. At first we started looking at leasing a car instead of renting one. I asked Michelle to start looking into that, but a funny thing happened

My daily devotional one morning talked about simplicity and worry. Psalms 55:22 states “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you”. I have prayed for the house to sell for quite some time and obviously to no avail Well instead of worrying about the house selling I instead asked for the Lord to take away my worries and to show me where he wanted me. If the house wasn’t to sell then show me something else. That day Michelle and Matthew came with me to work to visit Tom and Theresa’s new baby. Michelle talked with Theresa about the house situation and Theresa made the comment “I’m surprised they haven’t gotten you an apartment by now.” Man I felt dumb. Why didn’t I think of that Michelle and I talked about it on the long ride home and she was up for it, so I brought it up to the company and put the numbers together that it would cut expenses by about half if we moved to an apartment while the house sells.

This is something Michelle and I wanted to do after the house sold anyway so we didn’t have to rush trying to find a new place when this house sold. This was perfect. Well last week Michelle and I visited close to 25 apartments and townhouses in Delaware and came up with a good 5 or 6 we would be OK with, but 1 we definitely liked above all. A townhouse in Newark, literally the last place we visited, was amazing. More square footage then our home now, but only two bedrooms, a huge kitchen and living room, and a garage even.

All this to say we got the OK from the Townhouse this afternoon and passed this on to the company. The price is a little higher than we wanted but it really can’t be beat. No official word yet but it looks like we will get the green light, just need to work out the semantics. So it looks like as early as next weekend we may have a new address. We’ll let you know once we get the final word, but it may be a little busy over the next two weeks so don’t hold your breath!

2007 Mid Year Update

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know it’s been over a year since I last updated. All I can say is sorry. We have had a ton going on especially in the last 6 months. So here is the latest!

Well we have been hitting the 2 year mark in every location, and sure enough we hit the 2 year mark and I got a call. Resulting in us moving back to Philly for the, yes, 4th time. This move should be the last for awhile, at least I think so. I have been tasked with handling our most important client in Philadelphia as well as designing and managing our Corporate Quality website, and of course a few other miscellaneous tasks

We have put the house up for sale and have had a good bit of traffic but no offers yet. We have decided we will be moving into an apartment temporarily just until we find a house we really like. We don’t want to be rushed trying to find a house we may not be happy with. We also have decided we are going to start looking in Delaware where the taxes are much cheaper than PA or Jersey. We of course will keep you all advised once we do relocate.

Matthew and Michelle are doing well. Matthew is growing every day it seems and it is amazing the personality he now has. He scratches his head now when he is trying to think of something and that’s just one of the millions of things I can say

That’s about it for now. I’ve added some pictures but will be adding a ton more over the weekend, so keep an eye out. We’ll keep everyone updated as soon as we move and of course as soon as we find our next house. Hope everyone is doing well. Talk to you soon!

On the road again…

Well, you knew it was going to be a matter of time right? Well, it’s happened again. The company has requested me to move BACK to Baltimore to fix the ailing office so we have once again moved. Many of you have been aware of this, but my time has been limited as to what I was able to let everyone know. We ended up buying a house and the move was last week. You can see pictures before our move in our photo gallery. We are about half out of boxes and just got online this evening. All of us are thrilled about the house! Matthew has stairs to climb and free roam of the first floor all the time. The cats have a basement they can escape to anytime where Matthew can’t torture them. Michelle has her own yard again, and I, well I have my own escape in the basement. All in all we are very excited. We do have a “house mate” so to speak. You can’t call him a room mate really. We have a groundhog that resides under our shed and comes out to eat, pictures to come soon. Anyway enough babbling, I will be sending out an email to everyone I have address’ for to let them know our new contact info. As soon as we get out of boxes and I have a few free seconds I will put more pictures up from the house and all kinds of things I have been saving.
